Cloudflare WARP Review
WARP is a free, fast privacy layer between you and your ISP, not a VPN in the geo-shifting sense. As an always-on default for a phone, it is superb.

Our Cloudflare WARP review
Cloudflare WARP wraps your traffic in WireGuard and sends it to the nearest Cloudflare edge location, of which there are hundreds. That hides your browsing from your ISP and from anyone on the local network, and because Cloudflare's network is unusually well connected, it often makes browsing faster rather than slower.
It is free, unlimited, requires no account, and installs in a minute. For a phone that lives on hotel and cafe Wi-Fi, it is one of the easiest security upgrades available.
What it is not is a VPN in the sense most people mean. You cannot choose a country, so it will not unblock a foreign catalog, and your traffic is visible to Cloudflare, which is a very large US company with a commercial interest in traffic data even though its 1.1.1.1 privacy claims have been audited by KPMG.
There is no kill switch, torrenting is not supported, and WARP+ mainly buys smarter routing rather than new capabilities. The Zero Trust tier turns the same client into a business access tool.
Use WARP as an always-on baseline. Use a real VPN when you need a different country, stronger anonymity, or P2P.
Notable facts

Frequently asked questions
Is Cloudflare WARP a VPN?
Technically it is an encrypted tunnel, but it does not let you choose a country and is not designed for anonymity. Think of it as privacy from your ISP and the local network, not from Cloudflare.
Can WARP unblock Netflix?
No. There is no country selection, so it cannot change which catalog you see.
Does WARP cost anything?
The core service is free and unlimited. WARP+ adds optimized Argo routing for a few dollars a month.
Bottom line
WARP is a free, fast privacy layer between you and your ISP, not a VPN in the geo-shifting sense. As an always-on default for a phone, it is superb.
